ABSTRACT
The widespread use of imaging tests and its advances have exponentially increased the incidental findings of kidney masses in studies conducted for other reasons. Among them we find hyperdense renal cysts that, occasionally, do not meet the criteria of benignity or malignancy and constitute a challenge to all those responsible for diagnosis and treatment of these patients. Due to this reason, a decision was made to present the case of a 68-year-old female patient with a history of high blood pressure, who required medical assistance at the Emergency Ward of “Vladimir Ilich Lenin” General University Hospital, Holguín, Cuba, as she suffered from a bilateral lumbar pain, with predominance on the left side, which mildly responded to analgesics. Through the study with simple computerized axial tomography and intravenous contrast, bilateral hyperdense renal cysts, left prevalence, type II according to Bosniak classification, were diagnosed.REFERENCES
