ABSTRACT
Introduction. The categories sexuality and gender are sociocultural and historical constructions that are an important part of people's lives, private and public. Both build and reinforce systems of sociopolitical relations based on the imbalance of power between people, patriarchy and heteronormativity. Objective. Design an educational strategy on sexuality and gender aimed at students and professors of the Sociocultural Management for Development career that is implemented at the Central University Marta Abreu of Las Villas. Methodology. A technological development investigation was carried out through a descriptive, prospective and analytical study with the use of a mixed methodology. Results. Insufficient preparation was identified in students on issues related to sexuality and gender. The teaching staff of the career has insufficient skills to deal with these issues during the development of the curriculum. An educational strategy on sexuality and gender is developed, valued through consultation with specialists as viable and applicable in the context. Conclusions. The need to strengthen educational actions aimed at raising the level of knowledge about sexuality and gender in both students and teachers of the Sociocultural Management for Development career was confirmed. Recommendations. Carry out the systematic implementation and follow-up of the proposed actions to guarantee the inclusion of these topics in the curriculum subjects, university festivals, scientific diploma works, and other university extension activities.REFERENCES
