ABSTRACT
The commitment of the breast by lymphoma, both primary
and secondary, is very rare. The clinical similarities with breast
cancer make it difficult for the preoperative diagnosis of breast
lymphoma. Primary Breast Lymphoma (PBL) is a rare disease
that occurs between 0.4% and 0.5% of all malignant breast
tumors. The PBL occurs predominantly in women, however,
there are reports in men. Primary breast lymphoma appears as
a node in the breast tissue, and there are not specific clinic or
radiologic signs. The treatment of PBL includes radiotherapy
and chemotherapy, depending on the stage and grade of the
disease. It is important to obtain the precise diagnosis, and
usually surgical resection is not required. A case of a woman of
52-year-old referred to the consultation of mammary pathology
by 30 day-evolution right breast mastitis, with the presence of
a nodule is presented. The relevant cabinet studies were carried
out to confirm the diagnosis. At the time of the report the patient
continues to receive chemotherapy.
