ABSTRACT
Kaposi’s sarcoma (KS) is a potentially malignant low-grade vascular lesion that occurs most frequently with
HHV-8-associated skin lesions, occasionally the tumor may arise in lymph nodes or at visceral area without obvious
dermal disease. Lymph node involvement is rare and occurs in less than 10% of cases, it only affects patients in
advanced stages disease, associated with a worse prognosis. It occurs in the endemic variant in young patients
with human immunodeficiency virus. Differential diagnoses include tuberculosis and Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Immune
restoration is the proposed treatment as well as chemotherapy plus antiretroviral therapy. We describe a
case report of a patient with human immunodeficiency virus infection with lymphadenopathy compatible with
Kaposi’s sarcoma without associated dermatological lesions.
