Hypertension in infancy: the importance of taking arterial blood pressure

ABSTRACT

The finding of arterial hypertension is not frequent in Pediatrics Outpatient Department, nonetheless there are several causes of arterial hypertension in children that can be diagnosed if the routine measurement of blood pressure is taken in check up visits. In the present work main causes of arterial hypertension in childhood are reviewed, the correct way of taking blood pressure is stated as well as the interpretation.
