ABSTRACT
Spontaneous subcapsular renal haematoma is a rare entity tending to associate it to tumors and renal infections, vascular diseases and the consumption of anticoagulants. The objectives of this article are to present a patient with spontaneous subcapsular renal haematoma and to do a brief bibliographic review. 51 years old male patient with background of controlled arterial hypertension who attended to Emergencies service due to an intense left lumboabdominal pain and nauseas of sudden onset. The ultrasound showed lithiasis in the right kidney and an image of left perirenal collection. Contrasted tomography showed left subcapsular haematoma. It was used a treatment with analgesics, antibiotics and complete rest. In further studies the images showed the absence of perirenal haematoma. The patient evolved satisfactorily. The spontaneous subcapsular renal haematoma is infrequent and the contrasted abdominal tomography is the proper imaging study for a certain diagnosis. In selected cases conservative therapy is a valid option for the management of this kind of events.REFERENCES
