ABSTRACT
Ureter´s fibroepithelial polyps are a rare entity. The aim of this article is to comment on the clinical presentation,
diagnosis and treatment of an ureter´s fibroephitelial polyp. It is presented a male patient, 23 years old, with
increasing left lumbar pain. It was diagnosed by imaging studies and renal scintigraphy a syndrome of left
ureteropelvic junction. During the transoperatory pyelography, prior to pyeloplasty, a posible ureteral polyp
appeared. In the laparoscopic procedure, it was initially performed a pyelotomy which allowed to check the presence
of a growing polyp from the left pyeloureteral junction to the proximal ureter. It was resected the left pyeloureteral
junction and it was completed the pyeloplasty according to Anderson Hynes procedure. The anatomopathological
study confirmed the diagnosis. Pyeloplasty by laparoscopic approach brought a new therapeutic option for the
treatment of a polyp ureteropelvic junction obstruction that presented as a left ureteropelvic junction obstruction.
Pyeloplasty through laparoscopic approach offered a novel therapeutic option for treating ureteral polyp which
presented as a ureteropelvic junction obstruction, with long term satisfactory perioperative and functional results.
