ABSTRACT
The COVID-19 pandemic generated biological, psychological and
social repercussions on the world's population, the study of the
repercussions of this disease from the use of techniques such as
representations of the health-disease process on vulnerable
populations such as children and adolescents become prevailing for
disciplines such as health psychology. With the aim of analyzing the
psychosocial effect and representation of the COVID-19 pandemic on
a sample of Mexican children and adolescents, 24 young people
between the age of 6 and 16, who answered a questionnaire and sent
a drawing on the subject. The results show that 83% of participants
are interested in staying informed and more than 70% provide
adequate answers to the forms of virus infection. Additionally,
participants showed interest in referring positive aspects of health
contingency. The analysis of the drawings showed that the
participants equate social distancing with imprisonment and sadness,
while they also interpret it as a form of disease prevention. It is
concluded that confinement at home has affected the habits and
customs of the participants generating anxiety and irritability.
