ABSTRACT
Mucinous renal tumors has been diagnosed more in females, and is considered of low grade malignancy. The objective is to describe the clinical, anatomical and pathological aspects of a case with a mucinous renal tumor. A 58 years old mestizo male patient came complaining of left lumbar pain. Imaging studies reported a renal mass of malignant appearance, a laparoscopic radical nephrectomy was performed. The pathology report confirmed a mucinous tubular and spindle-cell carcinoma. Mucinous tubular and spindle-cell carcinoma is considered a histological type within renal carcinomas, of low malignancy potential although there are reports that show a more aggressive development. Immunohistochemistry is essential for diagnosis. The case presented has progressed satisfactorily along the 15 months of followup after the radical nephrectomy, being the only treatment.REFERENCES
