ABSTRACT
Psoriasis is a chronic immune disorder that develops after exposure to a skin lesion; either traumatic, medicinal or infectious in genetically predisposed people. It presents in a classic way as erythematous confluent plaques, micaceous scales with well-defined borders, however there are other clinical cutaneous forms. Beyond skin involvement, psoriasis is also associated with a number of important medical and psychiatric comorbidities, including psoriatic arthritis, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, malignancies, depression, and anxiety. Its treatment depends on the severity of the clinical picture, ranging from topical preparations to systemic treatments, without forgetting the multidisciplinary management of its comorbidities.
