FullPIERS test as predictor of postpartum chronic arterial hypertension in patients with history of preeclampsia

ABSTRACT
Introduction: The use of a predictive evaluation system for maternal risk in preeclampsia called FullPIERS test (Preeclampsia Integrated Estimate of Risk) was introduced into the Cuban protocol for hypertension and pregnancy in 2017. Variables such as gestational age, dyspnea / chest pain, creatinine, platelets, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase and oxygen saturation are used for its calculation.Objective: To determine the predictive value of postpartum chronic arterial hypertension of FullPIERS test in patients with history of pre-eclampsia.
Methods: A prospective cohort study was carried out in the maternity ward at Carlos Manuel de Céspedes University Hospital in Bayamo, Granma, Cuba, from March 1, 2017 to February 29, 2020. One hundred sixty-two patients with preeclampsia were studied.
Results: The age range between 20 and 35 years predominated with a mean of 26.8 years. In the univariate analysis, elevated creatinine above 70.72 μmmol/L has a RR of (3.088); the FullPIERS test greater than 5% a RR of (2,002), TGP greater than 49 IU a RR (2,112) and the platelet count was less than 150 thousand a RR of (1,550). In multivariate analysis, only creatinine increased above 70.72 μmmol/L constitutes a predictor factor.
Conclusions: FullPIERS test has no predictive value in postpartum chronic arterial hypertension.
