ABSTRACT
Introduction: Venous thromboembolic disease has different clinical presentations; one of them is deep vein thrombosis, which may be in the range painful inflammatory Cerulean, constituting a clinically high severity.
Objective: To report the great complexity of the clinical condition of a patient with painful inflammatory cerulea after the termination of pregnancy by micro-cesarean section.
Case report: We describe a case of a 31-year-old patient with a personal medical history of essential chronic hypertension II. The successful result was related to an accurate diagnosis and effective therapy with thrombolytics in order to prevent bleeding that would endanger the life of this patient.
Conclusions: The thrombolytic treatment used after a diagnosis of painful inflammatory cerulea with arterial vasospasm is adequate given the risk of amputation and danger to life. In the case reported herein, favorable response was confirmed with the early use of streptokinase and the use of a dose/response scheme.
