ABSTRACT
The nose is an important mid-face area frequently affected by
skin carcinomas. Nasal defects have particular impact on facial
form and function. The management of post-surgical defect is
always a challenge.
The East-West advancement flap yields good aesthetic and
functional results for defects smaller than 2 cm located in the
lower portion of the nasal dorsum in contact with the tip.
In this communication, we describe how to design the flap
and the surgical technique step by step. We discuss the medical
indications, benefits and limitations of this procedure, and we
present two clinical case reports.
