ABSTRACT
Introduction: cutaneous pseudolymphomas (CPL) represent
a heterogeneous group of benign B or T lymphocyte reactions
that histopathologically or clinically mimic cutaneous lymphoma.
Clinical case: a 34-year old woman presented a nodular, firm
lesion in the left upper limb, which appeared nine months after
getting a tattoo at that same site. Histopathological study
showed a dense diffuse band-like infiltrate from superficial
dermis to hypodermis, predominantly composed of small and
medium lymphocytes with a perivascular and periglandular disposition.
Immunohistochemistry was positive to CD68, CD20
and CD3.
Discussion: the most frequent causal agents reported associated
to cpl are drugs, tattoos and vaccines. We present a classic
case of cutaneous pseudolymphoma associated to a red tattoo;
this entity is infrequent, but given the high demand of tattoos,
this complication could increase.
