ABSTRACT
Intracranial hypertension syndrome (IHS) is characterized by increased of intracranial pressure (ICP) above normal limits, which leads to various signs and symptoms suffered by the patient, which, if it is not diagnosed early, can lead to a fatal outcome leading to coma and death. ICP is determined by cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure, blood flow, and brain parenchyma. Its etiology is varied, and it can be acute or chronic, which determines the various clinical manifestations. The clinical manifestations occur in several stages, commonly producing headache, vomiting, papilledema, and focal neurological signs. The objective is to publicize the
neuroanatomy that is involved, in order to make an early diagnosis and prevent irreversible pathologies, likewise it is of utmost importance to understand the reason for the clinical manifestations by knowing the affected structures and thus being able to carry out an adequate approach.
