ABSTRACT
Definition and description: The relationship between Cannabis use and individual-family-social affectation. The characteristics of the psychotropic, its alterations and the medicinal use attributed to its synthetic derivatives, whose commercial fashion of great benefits, do not have the approval of regulatory bodies.
Epidemiology: Provides a panoramic view of the scope of consumption.
Acute/chronic effects: demystify their safety, especially in the long term and point to health consequences. The combination with other psychotropics, disorders and dependence create comorbidity (dual pathology) of greater severity and more difficult management. It stands out for its use in pregnancy and circumstances inappropriate for its elimination.
Clinical evaluation: documents the condition, circumstances and alterations required for acute/long-term management. Its actions have means and elements linked to the different programs available.
Rehabilitation: recommended by experts meets the individual characteristics and actions necessary for its consolidation.
Prevention: establishes international recommendations for different groups of users.
Conclusion: Shows the initial and indiscriminate use of Cannabis –inducer of other drug use– and points to the ignorance and prejudices had in a poorly informed society that considers it "safe or curative". The debate should choose between toxicity and damage vs. prevention and health. Adequate pre-consumption information, the provision of truthful data, institutional support and reorientation to the means to improve social health is lacking.
