Pediatric patient management. 5-year follow-up at the Center for Dental Specialties of the Maternal and Child Institute of the State of Mexico

ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to find out the number of treatments performed in pediatric patients entering the Dental Specialty Center in the Pediatric Dentistry Service, office 1, as well as the characteristics and management over a period of five years. Material and methods: An observational, retrospective, cross-sectional and descriptive study was carried out using the electronic files available for research. A five-year database was developed, recording age, sex, systemic diagnosis, place of origin, type of dental care and type of dental treatment needed. Results: 416 dossiers were analysed, removing 116 by not complying whit the inclusion criteria. The average age was found to be three years, 53.4% male and 46.6% female, 84.3% of the patients entering were apparently healthy and 88.7% of patients were treated on Dental Office. 36.8% of the patients admitted were from Toluca. The treatment used with the most frequency was the nickel crowns with an average of 4 per patient. Conclusions: The most frequent treatments are corrective treatments.REFERENCES
