ABSTRACT
Objective: to identify and analyze risk factors and prognostic factors in patients with suspected COVID-19 at UMF 1 in Ciudad Obregón from May 1 to June 30, 2020.
Methods: analytical, observational, cross-sectional, retrospective and retro-class study of records of patients with suspected COVID-19, the main clinical, sociodemographic and epidemiological characteristics were collected. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to identify risk factors and prognoses. A value of p ‹0.05 was considered statistically significant.
Results: the sample consisted of 123 women and 107 men with a mean age of 40.3 ± 11.8 years. The main reported symptom was headache, followed by myalgias, arthralgias, and fever. Systemic arterial hypertension implied a risk of aggravation, as well as obesity and diabetes mellitus. Complications were admission to the intensive care unit, pneumonia, intubation, and death, which was the most frequent.
Conclusions: In the present study, mortality was slightly higher than what is observed in the general Mexican population. The concomitant disease that most influenced the fatal outcome was the hypertension.
