Knowledge is power.
Sir Francis Bacon
A new year begins that is still in extraordinary condition as a result of a pandemic that has changed our actions, our work and of course our way of researching and writing.
The processes have been modified and in Acta Ortopédica Mexicana we have partially delayed, however, the adaptations are being worked on, mainly technological to correct the delay.
In this first issue of 2021 we make a delivery with several works around the knee joint, although we present the first effort of Mexican authors with the navigated surgery; we also showed the results of follow-up with knee prosthesis with and without PCL preservation and ended up in the prosthesis segment with an analysis of knee tumor prostheses.
Within the collaborations from abroad we present two reviews, one from Guatemala on iliac sacral pain and an extensive review on the flat foot of the adult by a Hispanic-Mexican group interesting both works that I hope they will be considered as a reference in your future clinical research.
We also present, within the field of education in Spain an interesting survey on participation in research and the level of satisfaction in the orthopedics residency, serves this work to leave the invitation open to all professors of the different orthopedics courses in the country to make a reflection and analysis towards where we are taking our residents in the field of research...
Finally, we will have a review of the Uruguayan prosthesis registry with interesting data to review with respect to the surgical approaches, we show the first series of placement of hip prosthesis by anterior approach and we present a series of review with monoblock stems.
You may notice that the volume of works has increased because we want all the authors who send us their works to have the opportunity to appear in Acta Ortopédica Mexicana as a peculiar way to celebrate the 75 years of existence of our Mexican College of Orthopedics.
Continue reading us, include us in your publications and give us the opportunity to show your research in Spanish or English to the entire Spanish-speaking world.
