Evaluation of the life quality in spinal cord injury

ABSTRACT
The objective was to evaluate the quality of life in people with spinal cord injury.
Method. the Euroqol-5d was applied 27 patients with 2 years of later treatment to
its injury, in which the mobility, personal care, was evaluated daily activities,
pain/uneasiness and anxiety/depression, the similar visual scale was also applied.
Results. 88.9% was of the masculine sex and 11.1% feminine, age average 38.7 years,
minimum 15 and maxim 80, Ds 16.57, civil state: single 48.1% level of studies,
primary 48.1% daily activity: employees or workers autonomous 51.9%.
Main dimensions: mobility: some problems to walk with attendance 51.9%;
personal care: some problems to be washed and to get dressed 70.4%, daily
activities: some problems to carry out activities daily 77.8%, Pain/uneasiness:
moderate pain or uneasiness 88.9% Anxiety/depression: they presented moderate
anxiety or depression 63%. General state of health in the last 12 months 70.4%
reported that to the day of the application of the survey it was better, EVA
qualification 70, 29.6% and of 80, 22.2%. State of health: the whole population
in study was that is to say below 21122 of good to bad. The results they point
out that in spite of being a severe problem of health her quality of life
you/he/she improves with the treatment in function of the results obtained
in each dimension.
Conclusion. Being necessary to carry out comparative studies
with other instruments to validate the obtained information to level national
and international.
