ABSTRACT
Chronic ulcers generate an important health problem and
worsen the quality of life. The use of hyaluronic acid has been
proposed to accelerate the healing of chronic ulcers: vascular,
diabetic, postoperative and pressure ulcers; in addition, its use
is safe and profitable. However, it is necessary to increase the
number of scientific studies to examine the efficacy and possible
complications of this treatment in the short and long term,
as well as to explore its possible synergistic effect with other
therapies.
