ABSTRACT
Papilliferum hidradenoma is a benign and rare tumor, usually
affecting the vulvar or perianal region. It develops from the
apocrine glands, and clinically is an asymptomatic neoformation
with a cystic appearance. Histopathology describes an intradermal,
solid-cystic, cuboidal-columnar cell proliferation with
a pattern of interconnected maze-like bridges and anastomoses
of tubules, with papilla formation and surrounded by fibrous
tissue. The treatment of choice is surgical resection with few
reported cases. We report a 47-year-old female with a vulvar
tumoral lesion with six-months history. An excisional biopsy was
performed, with a histological result of a papilliferum hidradenoma
connected to the epidermis. A review of related literature
is performed.
