ABSTRACT
Lymphocytoma cutis is a benign reactive lymphoid hyperplasia
characterized by inflammatory lesions that mimic lymphomas.
It is the prototype of cutaneous b-cell pseudolymphoma.
Most cases are idiopathic, but they can be related with multiple
stimuli, such as insect bites, tattoos, medications, injections, infections,
and metals, among others. It can be a single red-violet
nodule, but the lesions can be multiple and present as papules
or plaques, affecting the face, upper trunk and arms. The diagnosis
is mainly confirmed by histopathology and immunohistochemistry.
Therapeutic options include systemic and infiltrated
corticosteroids, radiation therapy, psoralen and ultraviolet a
(puva), cryosurgery, hydroxychloroquine, surgery, and photodynamic
therapy.
We describe a 60-years-old man with a clinical and histopathological
diagnosis of lymphocytoma cutis with disseminated
lesions. The adjacent cause was not found and the lesions
disappeared after the biopsy was taken.
