ABSTRACT
Atrial fibrillation is one of the most frequent arrhythmias in the world population, with the emergence of new therapeutic alternatives, choosing an anticoagulant treatment that provides the greatest benefit to the patient is sometimes a challenge. The different articles related to the topic, available in the last 11 years in the databases of pubmed, medline, among others, were thoroughly and automatically reviewed. The search for information was classified, selecting relevant publications among them the clinical practice guidelines/guidelines that expose the results of randomized controlled trials, non-randomized comparative trials and expert opinions, evaluating the quality of the evidence, performing an analysis and finally the synthesis of the same.
