Rabdomiólisis por esfuerzo

RESUMEN
Antecedentes: La rabdomiólisis se refiere a la lesión de fibras musculares y la
consiguiente liberación de distintas proteínas musculares a la circulación. Múltiples
factores de riesgo pueden predisponer a la aparición de la enfermedad, entre los que
destacaremos el ejercicio. El cuadro clínico comienza con mialgias, debilidad y edema
muscular después de la actividad física junto con la aparición posterior de pigmenturia.
El diagnóstico requiere alta sospecha clínica y se confirma con estudios de laboratorio.
El objetivo principal del tratamiento es prevenir la aparición de lesión renal aguda.
El manejo puede ser ambulatorio en casos leves o requerir cuidado intrahospitalario
dependiendo de la severidad del caso.
Caso clínico: Paciente masculino de 19 años de edad con rabdomiólisis por actividad
física vigorosa que fue tratado de manera intrahospitalaria.
Conclusiones: Debe considerarse el diagnóstico de rabdomiólisis de esfuerzo en
todos los pacientes con mialgias persistentes o debilidad asociadas con ejercicio, sin
importar la intensidad de la actividad física que se haya realizado
