Protocolo de recomendaciones para el manejo perioperatorio del paciente quirúrgico COVID-19: «Código PO COVID-19»

RESUMEN
En la actualidad existe un número no determinado de pacientes quirúrgicos infectados por coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) debido a que su propagación se ha llevado a cabo a una velocidad sin precedente, por lo cual se ha tenido que reforzar las áreas quirúrgicas. En el contexto de los procedimientos de riesgo de transmisión vírica, el equipo quirúrgico no escapa del alto riesgo de contagio por la infección del virus SARS-CoV-2. La epidemiología de las patologías quirúrgicas siempre tendrá su prevalencia, incluso en tiempos de pandemia. Se realizó una revisión no sistemática de las recomendaciones para el manejo perioperatorio del paciente COVID-19 publicada hasta el momento con el propósito de organizar e integrar la información en cuanto al manejo perioperatorio del paciente quirúrgico COVID-19 con la finalidad de sistematizar un mismo lenguaje adaptado a las necesidades individuales de cada institución con la particularidad de fundamentar en 10 pasos el manejo de este tipo de pacientes y de esta manera resguardar la integridad y protección tanto del personal de salud como la del paciente mismo.
