Guías para el Diagnóstico, Prevención y Tratamiento de la Enfermedad Tromboembólica Venosa

RESUMEN
En México tenemos la necesidad de desarrollar y difundir consensos, lineamientos y guías para diversos aspectos de la medicina, en la cual, por la gran disparidad de criterios o por la simple desinformación, se siguen conductas diagnósticas y terapéuticas distintas en cada institución, hospital, servicio e, inclusive, entre cada clínico. Esta falta de uniformidad impide obtener datos epidemiológicos vitales, desarrollar investigación clínica coherente, planificar los recursos óptimamente y cumplir con el objetivo más importante: disminuir la morbilidad y mortalidad en nuestro país. La enfermedad tromboembólica venosa es una de las principales causas de morbilidad y mortalidad hospitalaria en el mundo. Aunque desconocemos los datos exactos en nuestro país, estamos seguros que una mayor uniformidad de criterios entre las especialidades involucradas en su prevención, diagnóstico y tratamiento nos aclarará más el panorama de esta entidad y contribuirá a un abordaje más racional e interdisciplinario, el cual salvará vidas, mejorará la calidad de vida de los pacientes, ahorrará recursos y elevará el nivel de conocimiento de esta entidad tan frecuente. Lo anterior es una justificación suficiente para el esfuerzo dirigido por el Colegio de Medicina Interna de México, el cual, mediante el apoyo de otras Sociedades Médicas involucradas y del trabajo colegiado de expertos y especialistas en el tema, se dio a la tarea de desarrollar estas guías mediante una metodología de consenso de diversos equipos de trabajo. Estos equipos, reunidos ya en una sesión de trabajo plenario, llevaron sus criterios a la uniformidad y al acuerdo, de tal manera que la bibliografía está revisada y actualizada para tratar de adaptarla a nuestra realidad y circunstancia nacional.
