Precauciones en la atención neonatal en la sala de partos ante una madre sospechosa o positiva para COVID-19

RESUMEN
El virus SARS-COV 2 ha llevado a una pandemia de rápida transmisión, con alta tasa
de mortalidad. Debido al amplio espectro de manifestaciones clínicas y la posibilidad
de diseminación a través de pacientes asintomáticos existe un subregistro de casos
confirmados. Aún faltan estudios para confirmar si existe transmisión vertical; sin embargo,
el recién nacido podría infectarse a través de la placenta, del contacto directo
con la madre o durante su estancia intrahospitalaria, por eso deben tomarse medidas
de protección durante la atención materna, perinatal y neonatal.
