La prueba de aliento para
Helicobacter pylori con urea marcada con carbono 13 (
13C-urea),
que en adelante se denominará con la sigla PAU-
Hp13C
® , es una prueba de laboratorio
diseñada específicamente para la detección de
Helicobacter pylori en el estómago mediante
la identificación de la actividad de la ureasa a partir del metabolismo de una pequeña cantidad
de
13C-urea, como evidencia de la presencia de esta bacteria en la cavidad gástrica.
