Ingesta de antioxidantes y su asociación a cáncer cervicouterino (CaCu) en mujeres de un sistema universitario

RESUMEN
Introducción. El estado nutricio comprometido está asociado con resultados adversos en pacientes con cáncer. El consumo
de diversos alimentos y nutrientes han sido reportados para la prevención del riesgo de CaCu.
Objetivo: Evaluar la asociación
de la prevención de CaCu con la ingesta dietética de antioxidantes.
Material y Método: Estudio transversal, observacional,
correlacional. La muestra se conformó por 202 mujeres, se les realizo una encuesta de frecuencia de consumo de alimentos
para ver la asociación de la ingesta de antioxidantes y el CaCu. El análisis estadístico utilizó la prueba T de student.
Resultados
En mujeres sin NIC (Neoplasia intraepitelial cervical) se observó mayor consumo de: Zinc 13.02mg (p= 0.017)118% de la IDR,
vitamina C 31.25mg (p=0.041) 41% de la IDR, IMC de 26.96kg/m
2 difiriendo de enfermas con menor ingesta e IMC 25.23kg/m
2
(p=0.018), demostrándose asociación entre estado de salud de las mujeres estudiadas y los antioxidantes mencionados.
Conclusiones: Se encontró asociación en las mujeres sin NIC y el consumo de antioxidantes, al observarse tener un factor
protector contra el CaCu debido a una ingesta mayor de alimentos con contenido en antioxidantes a diferencia de las personas
con NIC o CaCu.
