Método Thiel Soft-Fix para la Preservación de cadáveres a largo plazo

RESUMEN
La preservación de cadáveres a largo plazo es un reto médico en la actualidad, dada la toxicidad ambiental e individual de las sustancias utilizadas, incluyendo al formaldehído, y la dureza producida en los tejidos, que dificulta su manipulación en escuelas médicas y hospitales de enseńanza. En ańos recientes ha surgido un nuevo método de preservación a largo plazo, propuesto por Walter Thiel y denominado genéricamente como Thiel Soft-Fix; en este método se utilizan concentraciones muy bajas de formaldehído y, como atractivo especial, la consistencia de los tejidos cadavéricos se conserva muy similar a su estado premortem por periodos prolongados, facilitando su uso en instituciones educativas. En la presente revisión analizaremos las características del método de preservación de Thiel.
