Factibilidad del manejo conservador en el trauma vesical penetrante

RESUMEN
Descripción: El trauma como causa de enfermedad es un problema de
salud pública en países en vías de desarrollo. El trauma vesical penetrante
ocurre con más frecuencia en adultos jóvenes varones, y es causa
de diversas discapacidades. En pocas ocasiones se presenta de forma
aislada y, si bien es poco frecuente, su manejo implica un reto debido
a que puede ser pasado por alto y aún están definiéndose las pautas del
abordaje terapéutico.
Relevancia: El traumatismo vesical penetrante es la causa de complicaciones
como sepsis, infecciones y fístulas, que aumentan la morbilidad
y la mortalidad en pacientes que generalmente presentan otras lesiones
concomitantes.
Conclusiones: Como regla, las heridas vesicales penetrantes de la
pared intraperitoneal deben ser reparadas de forma quirúrgica, aunque
en un grupo bien seleccionado de pacientes puede realizarse un manejo
conservador.
