FRAGMENTO
La isquemia aguda de la extremidad constituye una emergencia médico-quirúrgica, debido a que compromete no sólo la viabilidad de la extremidad afectada, sino que se asocia también con elevados índices de morbi-mortalidad. Para restablecer la perfusión sanguínea en la extremidad afectada, el cirujano vascular posee en la actualidad una amplia variedad de opciones terapéuticas, que van desde el tratamiento quirúrgico convencional (trombectomía con catéter o bypass), hasta la infusión regional intraarterial de agentes trombolíticos.
