Introducción
El éxito en el control del sangrado perioperatorio depende de elaborar una estrategia inteligente que incluya el uso de hemocomponentes y el apoyo de agentes hemostáticos. Es importante señalar que el sangrado en una cirugía depende de múltiples factores como la disfunción plaquetaria, la hemodilución, la hipotermia, la hipocalcemia, la acidosis metabólica, el uso de anticoagulantes o antiplaquetarios, el consumo de factores de la coagulación y la pericia del cirujano entre otros.
