La enfermedad de inclusión citomegálica ocular como un problema de actualidad.

RESUMEN
La enfermedad de inclusión citomegálica es una infección oportunista, producida por un miembro de la familia Herpes virus. Es una enfermedad ampliamente difundida y que, en la actualidad, ha cobrado especial importancia por su relación con los cuadros de inmunodeficiencia como el VIH, los relacionados con padecimientos depauperantes, por el empleo de drogas citotóxicas e inmunosupresoras, por radiaciones y en portadores de neoplasias malignas o estados hereditarios de deficiencia inmunológica. Es un padecimiento grave e invalidante en inmunodeficientes, pero no en los recién nacidos, aunque las complicaciones son limitantes de la función. Se ilustran los cuadros clínicos, cambios histológicos y las medidas de control actuales más sobresalientes.
