Trastorno por Déficit de Atención y Tempo Cognitivo Lento

RESUMEN

El presente trabajo comenta el manuscrito sobre el Tempo Cognitivo Lento de Bernad y Servera (2016), en el que se proponen dos posibles perspectivas: su diferenciación como una entidad nosológica propia o como una dimensión psicológica transdiagnóstica, de interés especial en el diagnóstico diferencial del Trastorno por Déficit de Atención-subtipo inatento. Los problemas de modulación sensorial, caracterizados por un patrón de hiporrespuesta, podrían estar relacionados con la presentación de una menor velocidad de procesamiento y las características del Tempo Cognitivo Lento (SCT). Es fundamental la realización de estudios de cohortes que permitan entender el SCT, así como nuevos estudios que controlen variables que pueden ser confusas, como los tipos de trastornos psicopatológicos, nivel socioeconómico, número de ítems de inatención, entre otros. Finalmente, se señala la necesidad realizar estudios que permitan conocer con mayor profundidad la relación entre el SCT y el funcionamiento cognitivo y la vida cotidiana.
