RESUMEN
La gran problemática actual relacionada con la obesidad ha generado múltiples esfuerzos dirigidos a la identificación de
sus factores causales y de las opciones profilácticas y terapéuticas para su abordaje. Entre los factores dietéticos estudiados,
se encuentra el consumo de lácteos, que de forma frecuente mas no consistente ni conclusiva, aparece como un factor
protector para sobrepeso, obesidad y para el desarrollo de sus comorbilidades. La literatura actual aborda la asociación
entre el consumo de lácteos y la obesidad con dos enfoques principales: su contribución a la ingestión energética de los
individuos y la influencia de algunos componentes nutrimentales de los lácteos, principalmente calcio, proteína y lípidos
sobre los procesos subyacentes al desarrollo de esta condición. El presente texto aborda estos puntos a partir de la revisión
del estado actual de la literatura científica sobre estas temáticas.
