Introducción
Con 2% del peso corporal, los riñones reciben el 20% del gasto cardíaco, la región medular recibe entre 1-2% del flujo renal con presiones de oxígeno sumamente bajas siendo por lo tanto extremadamente susceptible al daño hipóxico-isquémico.
El daño renal agudo (DRA) es muy frecuente en el período perioperatorio, afecta la evolución clínica del paciente incluyendo el desarrollo de enfermedad renal crónica (ERC) y el aumento de la mortalidad.
