Consecuencias de la obesidad en la reproducción y en el embarazo

RESUMEN
La obesidad observada en las mujeres jóvenes no sólo las predispone
a enfrentar una mayor prevalencia de enfermedades crónicas, también
incrementa el riesgo de infertilidad, el desarrollo de complicaciones
en el embarazo y de alteraciones en el desarrollo fetal. Lo anterior
condiciona complicaciones médicas y psicológicas por la infertilidad,
así como alteraciones neonatales, obstétricas o congénitas, además de
cambios en el estado metabólico durante el embarazo. Todo lo anterior
influye en el posterior estado de salud de la mujer, así como en el
desarrollo de sus hijos.
