Introducción
El empleo de factores de crecimiento autólogos, así
como el de células autólogas, para el tratamiento de
lesiones músculo-esqueléticas y de tejidos blandos
es una opción terapéutica que en los últimos años se
ha posicionado en el campo de la ortopedia y cirugía
plástica con resultados alentadores, representando
una opción terapéutica accesible y segura para el
paciente. Asimismo, es un área de oportunidad de
desarrollo para la medicina transfusional, ya que son
los bancos de sangre donde se pueden desarrollar
productos de alto valor terapéutico, como los facto-
res de crecimiento derivados de plaquetas y colas
hemostáticas, entre otros.
