Abordaje diagnóstico y tratamiento oportuno de la escleroqueratitis necrotizante (EQN): un caso clínico

RESUMEN
La escleritis necrotizante es un proceso inflamatorio ocular mediado por inmunidad, caracterizado por un área de necrosis
avascular e inflamación intensa de la esclera y epiesclera circundante. La escleritis necrotizante y su asociación con queratopatía
ulcerativa periférica –EQN– constituyen una seria amenaza para la visión e integridad del ojo, evolucionan rápidamente si
no son tratadas y sugieren la presencia de un proceso vasculítico sistémico potencialmente letal. El siguiente caso es un
ejemplo del abordaje diagnóstico y la escala terapéutica en un paciente femenino de 63 años con cuadro clínico de EQN.
