Introducción
Durante la cesárea en mujeres sanas con anestesia regional se pueden observar cambios transitorios del electrocardiograma (ECG), tales como depresión del segmento ST y anormalidades de la onda T. Los cambios electrocardiográficos, similares a los observados en la isquemia miocárdica, junto con dolor torácico, son comunes durante la cesárea. Existe la teoría de que la administración de oxitocina provoca efectos cardiovasculares que hace que se presenten estos síntomas y cambios ECG.
