Tratamiento a largo plazo del infarto agudo del miocárdico con elevación del segmento ST: actualización

RESUMEN
El infarto agudo de miocardio con elevación del segmento ST comporta altísimos
índices de mortalidad. En la bibliografía al respecto se hace especial énfasis en las
circunstancias que rodean a la fase aguda del evento y se le resta importancia a la
conducta posterior o a largo plazo, período en el cual se documenta un considerable
porcentaje de muertes por complicaciones derivadas del infarto. En la presente
revisión se analiza la conducta ulterior que se debe tener en cuenta para el
seguimiento correcto del paciente con infarto agudo del miocardio con elevación del
segmento ST.
