RESUMEN

La ritidectomía ha evolucionado con el tiempo, desde operaciones muy complejas y capaces de provocar serias complicaciones, hasta las modificaciones actuales que permiten practicarla como un procedimiento ambulatorio con anestesia local y sedación endovenosa. Al presente, la morbilidad es mínima y los resultados muy duraderos. Es importante recordar brevemente el pasado de esta operación y el desarrollo de los conocimientos anatómicos que abrieron el camino hasta la situación actual.
