Conceptos básicos de la electrocirugía en odontología restauradora

RESUMEN

Las aplicaciones de la electrocirugía en el campo de la odontología dependerán directamente de la habilidad del operador, de los conocimientos, tanto de los principios de la técnica como de la estructura y funcionamiento de los tejidos en donde se aplica, y lo más importante, de la aplicación de un criterio adecuado para saber cuándo se puede recurrir o no al uso de la electrocirugía como medida terapéutica. La electrocirugía es un valioso auxiliar en odontología restauradora para la toma de impresiones, así como en cualquier procedimiento donde haya necesidad de remoción de pequeñas porciones de tejidos blandos y de proveer coagulación. Las ventajas más importantes de la electrocirugía son: su capacidad de proporcionar un campo libre de sangrado, rapidez y seguridad, así como mayor facilidad de acceso a zonas consideradas difíciles. La electrocirugía debe ser vista como auxiliar o complemento dentro de la odontología y no como un método que pueda aplicarse para resolver todos los caso
