Síndrome de Melkersson-Rosenthal: consideraciones sobre su real posición nosológica

RESUMEN
El Síndrome de Melkersson-Rosenthal (SMR) es un trastorno
raro, de etiología desconocida. Sus principales características
son: edema orofacial recurrente, parálisis facial periférica recidivante
y
lingua plicata. El hallazgo más importante a la biopsia
es la presencia de granulomas no caseificados. Presentamos un
caso de SMR en un hombre de 37 años, planteando sugerencias
terapéuticas e hipótesis sobre su posición nosológica. ¿Se trata
de una auténtica entidad nosológica o es parte de un síndrome
complejo?
