ELISA y sus aplicaciones en dermatología

RESUMEN
ELISA es una técnica que permite la detección de antígenos o
anticuerpos específicos en una muestra de interés, mediante
una combinación de principios inmunológicos y enzimáticos.
Toda prueba de ELISA tiene en común los siguientes componentes:
un antígeno o un anticuerpo específico marcado con
una enzima, un soporte, un sustrato que será transformado
por la enzima en un producto detectable y un sistema para
detectarlo. Los principales tipos de ELISA son el directo, el indirecto
y el de sándwich. Las aplicaciones en dermatología son
abundantes, y es utilizado principalmente para el diagnóstico,
con alta sensibilidad y especificidad, de dermatosis infecciosas,
ampollares, vasculitis, enfermedades del tejido conectivo y para
la medición de citocinas que están relacionadas con la patogénesis
de múltiples enfermedades con repercusión cutánea. Esta
técnica también tiene aplicaciones crecientes en la investigación
dermatológica, por lo que todo dermatólogo debe conocer los
principios básicos de esta prueba.
