RESUMEN
Desde fines del siglo XIX se han utilizado materiales para relleno
facial con fines terapéuticos y estéticos. Sin embargo, esta práctica
se ha convertido en un problema de salud pública debido
a las complicaciones precipitadas por malas técnicas de aplicación,
uso de materiales cuya seguridad no ha sido demostrada
y su administración a manos de personal no médico y mal capacitado.
