Resistencia a hormonas tiroideas (RTH). Reporte de caso

RESUMEN
El síndrome de resistencia a hormonas tiroideas (RTH) se caracteriza por una respuesta disminuida a las hormonas
tiroideas con un grado variable de resistencia en los tejidos blanco. Se presentan las características clínicas, los
hallazgos en la exploración y el protocolo de estudio realizados a una mujer con RTH. Se demostró la sustitución de
arginina por triptófano en la isoforma β del gen del receptor de hormonas tiroideas. La RTH es una causa poco
frecuente de disfunción tiroidea. Es necesario realizar un estudio adecuado y la confirmación del diagnóstico para
evitar el tratamiento inadecuado e ineficaz de esta condición.
