Evaluación perioperatoria de la función diastólica del ventrículo izquierdo

RESUMEN
La disfunción diastólica es una entidad frecuente que se asocia con una morbilidad significativa. A pesar de que los estudios invasivos para la valoración hemodinámica son el estándar de oro, la ecocardiografía se ha posicionado como una excelente herramienta diagnóstica. La evaluación perioperatoria de la disfunción diastólica debe ser implementada en pacientes que serán sometidos a cirugías cardíacas y no cardíacas. El conocimiento de los diferentes patrones de disfunción diastólica ayuda al anestesiólogo a tomar mejores decisiones de manejo durante el período perioperatorio, especialmente al escoger la técnica de anestesia, el manejo de líquidos y a predecir el riesgo de desarrollo de edema pulmonar. El objetivo de este trabajo es la revisión de los conceptos actuales de la disfunción diastólica del ventrículo izquierdo y la importancia de su evaluación en el perioperatorio.
